Bandon Beach, Oregon and the Northern California Redwoods, May 20-26, 2017
The workshop is full. For additional information or waiting list please, contact Eliot.
I’m happy to announce a workshop along the coast in southern Oregon and in the dramatic redwood forests of northern California. We would arrive on May 20 and depart on May 26, 2017.
In Oregon we will focus on two locations, Bandon Beach which offers a tremendous variety of sea stack sizes and shapes and Shore Acres with it’s otherworldly rock formations and beautiful gardens. We’ll have three evenings on Bandon Beach, which should offer a good range of light, skies and water effects.
In California we’ll be in dramatic redwood forests including Redwood National Park and several of the state parks with large protected groves. We’ll hope for some coastal fog and perhaps the first rhododendron blooms to add even more to the redwood drama.
The workshop is designed for a group of 8 people. It is assumed that everyone will have a working knowledge of their camera and the ability to use Lightroom to organize and share their pictures. We’ll try to take some time to review our images for composition and look at the possibilities to edit some to best advantage. Laptops are encouraged for this part of the workshop.
The workshop fee is $1495 and includes all photography activities. Additional charges, not included in the workshop fee, would be for transportation, lodging, meals, park fees ($5 per vehicle in Shore Acres), and other items of a personal nature.
Rooms have been reserved at nice hotels and lodges in our shooting locations. Details will be available as participants register for the workshop. My estimate of hotel charges would be $1000-1100 including taxes and breakfasts. All have free wifi. Flights would be to San Francisco and connecting from there. Vehicle sharing will be coordinated.
We would conclude in northern California in the morning on Friday, May 26, so anyone who would like to extend their stay on the west coast over the Memorial Day holiday could make those arrangements separately.
