When life gives you lemons, how about some ice cold lemonade… My group was scheduled to fly south from Anchorage to Lake Clark for a day of coastal brown bear photography, but the weather wasn’t cooperating. It was clear in Anchorage but low visibility in the mountains further south. As a courtesy, the flight operators offered the group an alternative flight crossing over the edge of Chugach Mountains to the glacier field east of Anchorage with the Knik, Colony, and Lake George Glaciers (and others). It was quite a spectacular flight with dramatic views of the glaciers.
Happily we did get to Lake Clark a day later. And we added a few more exciting aerial experiences with the mountains and glaciers on the way.
