An expedition class ship charter for a group of up to 12 people.
I have arranged a charter of a very comfortable, ice class expedition ship for a group of up to 12 people. The cruise dates are September 8-17, 2026. The ship has 9 cabins, 6 single and 3 shared, all with ensuite bath facilities. We will be able to photograph from the ship itself, and will make daily excursions in Zodiacs to add to our possibilities. There may also be some on shore landings with short walks.
I expect we will also get to the polar ice pack at or above 81 degrees north latitude (just about close enough to hand deliver your Christmas list to Santa…)
At this time in the Arctic we will have both sunrise and sunset. Coupled with the glaciers, ice and snow it should be truly beautiful.
Please contact me if you are interested in this expedition. I can send a pdf with additional details, and answer any questions you may have. It should be a very special experience. Only a few spaces remain at this time.
The cost for the espedition cruise is 15,850 (single accommodation on the ship and hotels) or 14,850 (shared accomodations on the ship, single in the hotels).
The cost includes:
- the ship charter (accomodations and all meals on board)
- guides on the ship and zodiac drivers
- flotation suit and boots for the Zodiacs (temps will be around freezing, but the suits are very warm)
- 3 nights hotel stays (Oslo airport in both directions, and one night arriving in Longyearbyen)
- transfers to the hotel and airport in Longyearbyen
Not included:
- travel to/from Longyearbyen (flights from the US to Oslo, and Oslo to Longyearbyen)
- meals while we are off the ship
I will have to make a non-refundable payment to the charter operators, therefore, I will not be able to offer refunds. It would be advisable to have a comprehensive travel insurance policy to cover any travel contingency as well as medical complications and emergency evacuation.
Additional costs include our international flights, tipping (I can provide guidance), travel insurance, and anything else of a purely personal nature, as well as any individual transportation other than with the group.
To give you an idea, here is a gallery of photographs captured during a cruise in mid May. Lots of snow, dramatic scenery, and interesting wildlife, to which we will hopefully be adding morning and evening color.
