Fall in Denali is all about the colorful taiga at lower elevations and the sub alpine tundra as you gain elevation. Both are dense with vibrant red, orange, and some yellow foliage, as well as dwarf spruce that characterize the taiga forest. It stretches endlessly in the valleys and up the mountainsides. It’s quite spectacular. On my visits I have been fortunate that “the mountain” (Denali) was out over several days despite considerable clouds and light rain – a reward for patience and persistence perhaps.
