The Dolomites region of Italy is the southern range of the Alps near the border with Austria. These photos are from the Val Gardena area which has some marvelous formations and spectacular alpine meadows, such as the Alpe di Siusi, the largest alpine meadow in Europe. It’s known for skiing in the winter, hiking in other seasons and as a beautiful place to photograph.
