Provence offers many wonderful reasons to visit – scenic beauty, charming villages, delightful food and wine, but perhaps the highlight would be the bountiful fields of lavender (and sunflowers) that are at their peak in late June through mid-July. There are many large commercial growers with fields that seem just about endless. And other farms on a smaller scale. Ochre quarries are also found here adding another color palette to the floral mix.
