Torres del Paine is in the southern region of Chile known as Patagonia. It is considered one of the most scenic places in all of South America. Featuring the dramatic “Horns” (Las Cuernos) formation, which receives the first light, the Towers (Las Torres) from which the park takes its name, and the beautiful powder-blue Grey Glacier that flows into Lago Grey, this is a stunning environment for trekking and photography. Glacial rivers and lakes apply their own calligraphy to the landscape. Pumas are protected and have been very successful in this area while guanacos roam in family herds and condors soar magnificently overhead. I have been fortunate to make five visits here. These are some of the moments I’ve enjoyed. Please also see the separate gallery with photos of Grey Glacier.
