Sicily has a wonderful combination of history and scenery (and food). Greek culture has left its imprint architecturally. To the East there is Siricusa and the island of Ortigia which is it’s historic center. To the south, there is the charming fishing village of Marzamemi and the hill towns Ragusa, Modica, and Noto which were all impacted by a dramatic earthquake in 1693. And to the North, there is Taormina, a very popular city for visitors in the shadow of Mt Etna.
