Tanzania, home of Mt. Kilamanjaro,  the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and other wildlife reserves is a wildlife viewing extravaganza. There are abundant numbers of many species including some othe largest herds of wildebeests and zebras numbering in the hundreds of thousands. The Serengeti is largely a grassy plain and dotted with beautiful green hills.

On our visit we were fortunate to see so many creatures in different settings. Among the many amazing moments were the hundred or so hippos in the pond at Retina where two rivers come together, large families of elephants in many areas, the concentration of creatures within the Ngorongoro Crater, giraffes gracefully ambling across the plains, wildebeests endlessly on the move, the humanity of the baboons, the intimate encounters at Lake Manyara, lions climbing trees, and the huge herds of Zebra in the Serengeti.
