Depart March 25 – Return April 1
The workshop is SOLD OUT. Contact Eliot for waiting list possibilities.
We’ll be photographing two iconic locations in the Southwest — Zion National Park in Utah and Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada.
We begin with three nights in Zion. The dramatic valley, which was carved by the Virgin River, is a spectacular sight, surrounded by towering red mountains and cliffs. On the eastern side, along the edge of the Escalante Grand Staircase, the Zion plateau ripples with cross-bedded Navajo sandstone in various shapes and patterns. Next, we’ll move to Valley of Fire, where the colors are surreal and the formations extraordinary. We’ll spend three nights in Valley of Fire before returning to Las Vegas for our return flight.
This is follow-up to a similar workshop that I conducted last March. Early spring is a beautiful time to be in these parks. The first foliage is showing on the trees in Zion, and both locations are relatively uncrowded, which means better access to prime locations.
